Valisa Murray
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Tennessee State University and a Master’s degree in Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary. After completing my undergraduate studies, I returned to my hometown of Detroit to pursue graduate training, where I discovered a deep passion for helping individuals and families cultivate healthy, meaningful relationships.
Throughout my career, I’ve been committed to equipping people of all ages with the tools to navigate both the practical and emotional aspects of life. I became a certified instructor for the Love Thinks PICK program (Premarital Interpersonal Choices and Knowledge) to further specialize in relationship education. In addition, I completed the Family Development Credentialing program through the University of Connecticut to deepen my understanding of family dynamics and development.
Licensed as a counselor in the State of Michigan, I provide both Christian and secular counseling tailored to each client’s unique needs. My practice focuses on issues including identity, anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, behavior modification, sex and intimacy. I also offer Christian counseling and I have a heart for those who have experienced hurt or rejection within faith communities.
Above all, I am passionate about creating a safe, supportive space where individuals, couples, and families can find healing, growth, and renewed connection.
