I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Michigan (LLPC) and a nationally certified counselor (NCC). I received a Masters of Arts degree in Counseling from Oakland University and am working toward an advanced specialization in Couple and Family Counseling. I have experience working with individuals and couples with various issues including depression, anxiety, life transitions, addictions, and relationship problems. I also have experience as a premarital counseling facilitator.
My counseling approach is based on existential, solution-focused, and cognitive-behavioral models depending on the needs of each client. I view counseling as an individual journey, dictated by my clients’ unique needs. It is my role as counselor to assist clients in exploring their needs, to guide clients in finding their own best solutions, and to help clients reframe cognitions in order to achieve a better life.
I have been happily married for 15 years and have two adolescent sons.
I am a member of American Counseling Association, International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors, Michigan Counseling Association, and Michigan Association of Marriage and Family Counseling.
